I have now completed my independent project, and I am really happy with the way it turned out, and how I was able to successfully make my ideas come to life! I enjoyed being able to learn things as I went with my project such as time management, different techniques when painting, and even adapting whenever there was a bump in the road. This was a really fun project to do since it has some big sentimental pieces of my life in it! If you haven’t already, feel free to look at the “independent project” tab on this website for an in-depth description of what this project was about and how I brought my ideas to life! Thank you for reading!

December 19th 2023 was the first Celebration of Learning of the 23-24 year at W.H Croxford! At the Celebration of Learning, VAM kids had their first art show of the year. This was in fact my first ever art show in my 15 years of living, and to my relief, it went really well. Many pieces of my art were displayed throughout the school. My Strongest Piece of The Art Show and Overall Thoughts of The Art ShowThe art piece of mine that stood out to me the most and to me felt the strongest was my David Bowie's Aladdin Sane Portrait. I felt that this was my strongest piece of art because when finishing this piece I was really proud of myself for the results, considering I have never done a portrait of someone using acrylic paint. This painting had many compliments by my family and friends throughout the night. Considering how nervous I was, I felt that the art show was very successful because I noticed that everyone's art pieces had nothing but great comments and had many people smiling. Acrylic Painting Of David Bowie's Aladdin Sane Growth Over The SemesterOver the semester, I felt that I have grown in many ways as an artist. I've learned new techniques with how to use oil pastels and artist's chalk for achieving different techniques when only drawing with oil pastel or artist chalk. The other areas I had growth in was drawing and applying different techniques that I've learned in class to my drawings and as well to my paintings when it comes to underpainting and shading. Overall for me this semester was great and I can't wait to see what the second semester brings!
